1. The e-passport application form can be filled out online.

2. No documents will need to be authenticated when applying for an e-passport.

3. There will be no need to add any photo and verify it in the e-passport form.

4. The application form must be filled as per the National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version).

5. Minor (under 18 years of age) applicants who do not have a National Identity Card (NID) must mention the National Identity Card (NID) number of their father or mother.

6. National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) must be submitted according to the following age:

(a) Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) if below 18 years of age.

(b) If 18-20 years old, National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) 

(c) National Identity Card (NID) is required if above 20 years of age. However, in case of application from Bangladesh Mission abroad, Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) will be accepted.

7. Serial numbers marked with an asterisk must be filled in.

8. In case of adoption/guardianship, the order issued by the Protective Services Department, Ministry of Home Affairs must be submitted along with the passport application.

9. The application should be submitted to the relevant Divisional Passport and Visa Office/Regional Passport Office/Bangladesh Mission abroad with the current address.

10. For all applications below 18 years and above 65 years, the e-passport will be valid for 5 years and 48 pages.

11. Relevant technical certificates (e.g. doctor, engineer, driver, etc.) must be uploaded/added.

12. Where applicable, relevant GO/NOC/Certificate/PRL Order/Pension Book should be uploaded/attached which should be uploaded on the respective website of the issuing authority. 

13. Marriage certificate/Nikahnama, if applicable, and divorce certificate in case of divorce, must be submitted.

14. In case of application within the country, VAT at the prescribed rate and other charges (if any) will be payable in addition to the applicable fee. In case of application abroad, the fee prescribed by the government will also be payable.

15. For a diplomatic passport, an application must be submitted to the Consular and Welfare Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the head office of the Department of Immigration and Passports.

16. If applying for a new passport from a foreign mission, the contact address in Bangladesh must be mentioned in the permanent address column.

17. In case of urgent passport application (new issue), it is mandatory to collect a police clearance certificate on your own initiative and submit it along with the application.

18. (a) If a police clearance is submitted along with the application for obtaining an urgent passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 2 working days, provided that all other information is correct.

(b) If a police clearance is submitted with the application for obtaining an emergency passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 7 working days, provided that all other information is correct.

(c) If a police clearance is submitted along with the application for obtaining a regular passport within the country, the passport will be issued within 15 working days, provided that all other information is correct.

19. At the time of application, original National Identity Card (NID), Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) and, where applicable, technical certificate, Government Order (GO)/No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be displayed/submitted.

20. In case of passport re-issue, the original passport must be presented.

21. In case of lost passport, a copy of the original GD must be displayed/submitted.

22. In case of application below 06 years of age, a 3R size (lab print gray background) photograph must be submitted.

23. If your passport is lost or stolen, you should immediately file a GD at the nearest police station. When applying for a new passport, you should submit the application form along with a photocopy of the old passport and a copy of the GD.
